Project Ironjack started with a 37 year old, overweight, full-time working mother of two small boys and her journey to complete Ironman in 2011.

That’s me, and my goal is to prove that an ordinary, everyday, unfit, overweight working mother can complete Ironman and that you don’t have to be a professional, elite sportsperson. Along the way, I hope to not only improve my own health and wellbeing and that of my family, but also to inspire other women and mothers like me to get out there and achieve something big.

I’m now 38 and am an Ironman! But that doesn’t mean my journey is over, in fact, it would appear that without the clear, all-consuming goal of Ironman, I’m still struggling to find motivation and momentum.

To get back to my “Ironman” best - body and mind - I’ve set the goal of achieving all seven races in the Contact Tri Series over the 2011/12 season. It’s a hugely exciting - but daunting goal - especially after a winter of inactivity - but I can’t wait!

I hope you will join me on my journey.

The Finish Chute!
